Changes to the Electronic Online Service (EOS) with effect from 1 April 2007

(1) In conjunction with the legislative amendments that will come into effect from 1 April 2007, including changes in the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) Regulations, changes to the Electronic Online System (EOS) are as follows:
- | Patents Form 57 is made available for filing via ePatents-Online Internet Service (OIS).

- | Patents Form 1(2004), Patents Form 45(2004) and Patents Form 46(2004) have also been revised to support this alignment with the PCT Regulations changes. These changes are reflected in the online forms and the Electronic Patent Preparation (EPP) forms in the latest release of the EPP software version 3.1 which is available for download here.

(2) Other enhancements and clarifications to submissions via OIS and/or EPP
- | OIS and EPP PF23 Correction of errors in patents and applications: 'Correction(s) of Abstract' may be attached if the option 'in any other document filed in connection with the patent or such as application' is selected. When the option 'in any other document filed in connection with the patent or such as application' is selected, either 'Correction(s) of Abstract' or 'Correction of document filed in relation to a patent/application' may be attached. Multiple 'Supporting document(s)' can be attached too.

- | EPP PF23 Correction of an error (other than in a name or address) in the register: This selection has been activated for submission via EPP, where users may attach multiple 'Supporting document(s)' for packages exceeding 5MB in size.

- | EPP PF1 and PF 1(2004): These forms are now catered for submissions where the number of pages of the description, claims or drawings exceeds 999 pages, as the limit for keying the number of pages in the respective textboxes has been extended to a maximum number of 99999.

- | Cover letter by Online Attachment Preparation (OAP): 'Cover letter' can be attached as an optional document (as a zipped OAP file) with OIS PF13, PF13A, PF17 and PF23.

- | Relocation of the Browse function from Confirmation Page to Form Filling Page for all OIS forms with attachment capability. Please note that for submissions with more than one form, the respective OAP files will need to be zipped and attached separately at the respective Form Filling pages.
