Release of EPP Version 3.3

EPP version 3.3 is now available for download at
http://www.epatents.gov.sg/General/download.asp
This is to assist in users' ease of transition before the use of EPP version 3.3 comes into effect on 2 June 2008, replacing EPP version 3.1 and version 3.2.
If you intend to submit your patents forms and documents via Online Attachment Preparation (OAP) or Electronic Patent Preparation (EPP) between 15 May 2008 and 1 June 2008 (23:59:59), please continue to prepare them using EPP version 3.1 or version 3.2. Patents forms and documents prepared using EPP version 3.3 and submitted to the Registry of Patents, IPOS between 15 May 2008 and 1 June (23:59:59) are not acceptable.
EPP version 3.3 is to be used for electronic filing only from 2 June 2008 onwards.
What is new in EPP Version 3.3:
- | Two Patents Forms (Patents Form 57 and Patents Form 99) and their accompanying document types are included.

- | A new option 'Alteration or Correction of Name (Applicant/Inventor)' in Patents Form 23 is provided, with a new document type ‘Evidence to Alteration or Correction of Applicant/Inventor’s Name’ made available as optional attachment.

- | Change in the name of document that may be filed with Patents Form 57–please select ‘Evidence in Support of Request under rule 9A(2)’ instead of ‘Statutory declaration/Affidavit’.

- | Change in the document name for a description to be filed with Patents Form 14 & Patents Form 14(2004)-If a description is to be submitted with Patents Form 14/ Patents Form 14(2004), please select ‘Description with claim(s) for PF14/PF14 (2004)’ instead of ‘Description with claim(s)’.

- | Patents Form 14(2004) is updated, with the section 'History of Replacement Sheets Filed’ removed.

- | A new tool ‘Patents Form Converter’ is added (under Tools > Patents Form Converter) to allow the viewing and printing of Patents Forms in prepared EPP packages before submission to the Registry. Refer to EPP User Manual Section 5.2 ‘View Patent Form’ (page 81-84) for details.

- | A list of characters and symbols supported by EPP is added. This list can be viewed under the menu: Tools > Acceptable Inputs. Refer to EPP User Manual Section 8 ‘Quick Reference Notes’ (page 95) for this list.
