Changes to the Electronic Online Service (EOS) with effect from 02 June 2006

1. Release of Patents Forms for Electronic Filing from 2 June 2006
The following Patents Forms will be made available for filing via ePatents with effect from 2 June 2006:

-	Patents Form 11B (2004)

-	Patents Form 12 (2004)

-	Patents Form 14 (2004)

-	Patents Form 46 (2004)

EPP version 3.0 is available for download at http://www.epatents.gov.sg/General/download.asp.
From 2 June 2006 onwards, please ensure that your EPP software is upgraded to the latest v 3.0. It is not advisable to continue using the older version of EPP thereafter as the additional Patents Forms to be made available from 2 June 2006 will not be catered for. You may encounter difficulties in your OAP or EPP submissions using previous versions of the software.
In addition to the release of Patents Form 11B (2004), Patents Form 12 (2004), Patents Form 14 (2004), PF45 (2004) [as part of PF14 (2004) and PF37 combinations] and Patents Form 46 (2004) for electronic filing, users will see a change in the display of the EPP Package Combination Menu in EPP v 3.0.
Steps are also being taken to allow the viewing of documents prepared for electronic filing via portable media. The documents would no longer need to be encrypted. However, the documents are still not viewable as this is only the first step in this process. Further work is being done to enable the viewing of the said documents. Encryption will be retained as part of the preparation process for OAP packages, so as to ensure the authenticity and preserve the confidentiality of sensitive documents.

2. Practice direction No. 2 of 2006 and corrigendum to practice direction No. 2 of 2006
The Practice Direction No. 2 of 2006 (Electronic Online Service), issued by the Registrar of Patents on 2 May 2006, will come into effect on 2 June 2006 and replace Practice Direction No. 1 of 2005 from that date onwards. The Corrigendum to Practice Direction No. 2 of 2006 (Electronic Online Service) was issued subsequently on 24 May 2006.

3. New Versions of Service Bureau Request Form, Waiver Request Form and Self-Help Facilities Form on 2 June 2006
New versions of Service Bureau Request Form, Waiver Request Form and Self-Help Facilities Form are available for download at the IPOS website http://www.ipos.gov.sg (Go to Forms and Payment > Patents Forms) and the ePatents website http://www.epatents.gov.sg/General/download.asp from 2 June 2006 onwards.
