Name search will allow you to search on the applicant, proprietor, inventor, previous applicant, and previous proprietor names. The system will perform the word(s) match. For example if you search for John, the results may consist of name John Smith, or Anthony John or E John Anderson. The system also allow you to perform the partial match search, for example John* will be able to return you Johnson or John, Edwards if any is found.

Previous applicants or proprietors recorded with the Registry prior to mid 1996 will not be covered in the search. It will also not search against inventor names of unpublished applications and for RUKPA cases prior to 9590387-8.

Number Search

There are two options in the number search. You can either select search on the application number or publication number from the selection list. If the application number option is selected you can specify the check-digit on box after the "-", if the application number is omitted the system will calculate the check-digit for the application number you have entered. It is always advisable to specify the check-digit if possible. Consider the case if accidentally enter the wrong application number and do not enter the check-digit, the system will return the result according to the wrong application number and no verification of the application number is performed. Note that no partial match is supported for this search.

Subject Search

You can either select search on the title or abstract for this search but not both. The system will perform the word(s) match for both options. The partial match is supported for this search.

Abstract search covers only the applications filed under the Patent Act (including PCT applications which has entered the national phase in Singapore) which has already been coverted into text format (see data availability update). It does not apply to the patents registered under the Registration of United Kingdom Patent Act.

Receipt No Search

This search allows you to search for the application number generated for your PF1/PF1(2004)/PF37 applications as e-filed, based on the online receipt number for these 3 types of forms. You can search either by inputting the full receipt number ( eg E07/00345600 ), or the numeric digits after the "/" character excluding the 1st few leading zeros ( eg 345600 ). The application numbers will only be available via receipt number search at least 2 working days from the lodgement date of the respective PF1/PF1(2004)/PF37 as filed online.
